SECTION "TRANSITION TO THE EURO"
In accordance with the Law on the Introduction of the Euro in the Republic of Bulgaria (State Gazette No. 70 of 20.08.2024, amended and supplemented by State Gazette No. 25 of 25.03.2025), we hereby inform you of the main principles and rules that will apply during the transition from the Bulgarian lev to the euro as the official currency of the country:
Currency and Prices
From the date specified in the Decision of the Council of the European Union on the adoption of the euro, all prices of goods and services offered on the website will be displayed simultaneously in Bulgarian levs and euros during the dual display period, in accordance with Article 15 of the Law on the Introduction of the Euro;
Prices will be converted into euros using the official fixed exchange rate: 1 euro = 1.95583 Bulgarian levs. The exchange rate shall not be rounded or truncated for calculation purposes;
Following currency conversion, all amounts in euros shall be rounded to the second decimal place in accordance with Article 13 of the law: if the third decimal digit is less than five, the second digit remains unchanged; if it is equal to or greater than five, the second digit is increased by one;
During the dual display period, prices in Bulgarian levs and euros will be displayed side by side, in the same size and font, clearly and unambiguously, with the currency indicated;
After the dual display period expires, all prices will be displayed only in euros.
Orders, Payments and Fiscal Documents.
During the dual display period, the final amount payable by the consumer will be stated in all payment documents (fiscal/system receipt or electronic receipt) simultaneously in Bulgarian levs and euros, together with the official exchange rate;
After the date of euro adoption, all payments and documents will be issued only in euros and euro cents.
All customer orders concluded in Bulgarian levs before the introduction of the euro shall be deemed concluded in euros from the date of introduction, with the amounts automatically recalculated using the official exchange rate, without additional fees or changes to any other terms and conditions;
Price Reduction Announcements, Discounts and Price Comparisons.
For price reduction or price comparison announcements expressed as an absolute amount or percentage, dual display is mandatory only for the final price payable by the consumer.
All promotional and discounted prices will be clearly displayed in Bulgarian levs and euros during the dual display period.
When indicating a price reduction, the previous price may be displayed only in Bulgarian levs together with the percentage discount. In all cases, however, the final price will be displayed in Bulgarian levs and euros.
Information and Transparency.
The trader undertakes to provide consumers with clear, accurate and timely information regarding the euro introduction process, including information on the exchange rate, rounding rules and all changes affecting consumers' rights and obligations.
In the event of a discrepancy between the total amount in euros and the sum of the individual items due to rounding, the consumer will be informed through an explanatory note in the shopping cart and payment documents.
Consumer Protection.
The conversion of prices and other amounts from Bulgarian levs to euros must not place consumers in a financially less favourable position.
The introduction of the euro must not lead to an increase in the prices of goods and services, except where justified by objective economic factors.
Consumer Rights.
Within one year from the date of euro adoption, every consumer has the right to obtain information regarding the monetary values in Bulgarian levs of their rights and obligations as of the date of currency conversion.
Final Provisions.
Any matters not expressly regulated herein shall be governed by the applicable Bulgarian legislation and the relevant acts of the European Union.
The trader reserves the right to update these General Terms and Conditions in the event of changes to the regulatory framework or in connection with the introduction of the euro, and such changes will be published on the website in a timely manner.
